I’m a registered clinical psychologist and I have worked in the public and private health care system for 20 years. I trained at the University of Canterbury in my hometown of Christchurch and then moved to Wellington after I graduated. I have recently returned to Christchurch and I’m enjoying rediscovering the things I love about this beautiful and scarred city. I believe that the essence of psychological well being and healing is learning to live with our imperfections and scars and building meaningful connections with others; something Christchurch truly embodies.

During my career I have worked for the District Health Board, run my own independent private practice and worked in education and consultation roles. I have worked with people from all walks of life and feel fortunate to have met so many resilient and diverse individuals who have be willing to share their experiences with me. I enjoy working alongside people to find ways to creatively shape and mould proven therapeutic techniques into strategies that work for them. I believe that to be an effective therapist for my clients I need an extensive toolbox of therapeutic strategies and therefore draw from a range of evidence-based treatment modalities in my work.

Here’s a link to a Short Film made by Frank Films where I got to talk about some of the work I do:
